Get the delicious flavor of Mississippi Mud Pie in the form of cookies for the holidays.
Mississippi mud pie is deeply southern and delicious to boot. While its roots come from …. (wait for it) … Mississippi, it has been interpreted in so many ways. These Mississippi Mud Cookies for Dixie Crystals are a fine way to honor the original.
The classic Mississippi mud pie isn’t even classic anymore. I can’t even tell you what the original recipe was for this pie because so many renditions exist today. I find it harder to get to the bottom of its true history because it has been passed on to so many people in so many ways that it can really be made anyway you see fit.
These Mississippi Mud Cookies are definitely a tribute to the Mississippi Mud Pie as I know it. Mississippi mud pie has chocolate (lots of it), marshmallows and chocolate sauce. That’s the only way I have had it.
Now close your eyes and imagine a chewy soft chocolate based cookie overflowing with marshmallows and drizzled chocolate sauce. If that sounds good, the real thing is even better, and its the perfect thing to giveaway this Christmas for your swaps! If you want some of this deliciousness, head over to Dixie Crystals and get the recipe HERE.
