Savory goodness with sweetness to boot! These balsamic brown sugar lamb chops will be your favorite new dish for entertaining!
I cannot get enough of my Omaha Steaks balsamic brown sugar lamb chops. In fact, if someone told me I had to eat this dish for three months straight, I would personally thank them!
I have been a lamb lover for as long as I can remember, which isn’t that long honestly considering that my family could not get me to try lamb until I was a teenager. Lamb just seemed so strange to me back then. I didn’t want it near me. It wasn’t until I was completely tricked one Christmas (the same thing happened to me with venison) when my Uncle BB made lamb shanks bathed in the most sensational gravy. I had no idea what it was and no one told me. After polishing it off, I was finally told, and I gave in once and for all.
Since then, I pretty much demanded those lamb shanks every holiday. I order lamb at restaurants now and even make it at home. The inspiration for these lamb chops came from wanting something sweet mixed with savory. Brown sugar is such a perfect complement especially when paired with balsamic vinegar. They really bring out the intensity of the dish, not that these chops need anything extra since they come from Omaha Steaks and are pretty darn perfect regardless.
I will be rolling out this recipe for entertaining and maybe for my anniversary along with my easy homemade garlic bread recipe. It is the perfect dish for a special occasion, and like I said, the flavor is out of this world decadent.

- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 Omaha Steaks Private Reserve Frenched Lamb Rib Chops
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 cup light brown sugar, packed ⅓ cup balsamic vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
- Add olive oil to pan and heat over medium high heat. Season lamb chops on each side with salt and pepper to taste.
- Once pan is hot, sear the chops on each side for up to 2 minutes then remove chops from pan and let rest.
- Turn the heat down to medium low. Add minced garlic to the pan and cook for one minute making sure you don’t burn it.
- Next whisk in brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper to taste. Allow the sauce to thicken.
- Add chops back into the pan, baste with sauce and continue to cook the chops until they are at your level of desired doneness. Remove chops from pan and place on serving platter.
- Garnish with parsley and serve.
