Plain Pound Cake submitted by Pat Ferguson
It’s always been a staple – easy and delicious
- ½ pound (2 sticks) butter
- ½ cup Crisco
- 1 cup sweet milk
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 cups flour
- ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Mix all ingredients together in stand mixer in order of ingredients.
- Bake about 60 minutes or a little longer at 325°.
- For chocolate cake, add 4 Tablespoons cocoa
